Rocky Patel Vintage Connecticut 1999 Sixty
Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 cigars are the latest edition to this marvelous series that's become a hit with cigar smokers 'round the world. Each Rocky Patel Vintage Connecticut 1999 Sixty cigar has a perfectly-balanced blend of Dominican & Nicaraguan longfiller tobaccos - all aged 7 years - highlighted by a mild, 1999-vintage Connecticut wrapper. The cigars are aged 120 days after rolling, and unlike the Rocky Patel Vintage '90 & '92, are NOT box-pressed. A sensationally smooth, toasty, medium-bodied cigar that hits on all cylinders.
Very nice construction, smooth full draw, even burn. The good stops here. On travel to Nor Cal Xmas time 2012. Stopped and pu a couple of sticks, t last 2. Owner said they've been sitting in the humi room for a year. Mild to weak flavor, very uninteresting puff. I'll give the 1999 Sixty 2.5 stars out of 5. The 2nd will rest in the humi for 18 mos minimum. If like other vintage Rocks, it should mellow and elevate during this time, hopefully.
I was expecting , I don't know, something "nice" from the Rocker. I've smoked almost everything he puts out and in almost every case one could say that there was something Unique, something.. "Rocky" to each smoke. I bought these because they Looked nice ..with their light color and satiny sheen ,,, the way they're made. But I was really let down. The smoke was almost tasteless except for its Hot, Acidic, Sour , Eye Squinting Harshness. I kept waiting for a saving Second Third but it got even Worse. I couldn't last to the last third. I tried another one days later thinking that I may have gotten the EXPECTED Rotten Apple of the Bunch but with almost identical results. I'll stick with THE EDGE for now thanks...
