I got my Romeo y Julieta's on New Year's Eve ... moreI got my Romeo y Julieta's on New Year's Eve eve. Naturally, I smoked the first two with my cigar buddy and his was great. Fantastic burn, great draw and overall structure. Mine unfortunately was awful...the wrapper fell apart and it would not burn evenly. I know that this happens with some cigars...there's one in a box that belies the quality of the box as a whole and I have to say that was the issue with my New Year's smoke. The rest of the box has been great. Spectacular burn and draw. The flavor is a pleasant medium as well. The flavor is still a little harsh since this is still a young box. However, I can't wait until they have had the time to age properly. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a nice, easy going smoke.

I was all set to write a scathing review of t... moreI was all set to write a scathing review of the R&J Bully, then I thought I should try just one more. My in-laws gifted me with a box of Bullys for Christmas 2000. Unfortunately, every time I smoked one, it just wasn't a very pleasant experience, even after they had spent months in the humidor. So I buried them deep in the humi, and gave many away to friends. After not smoking any for about 14 months, I tried one last night--what a difference! It started out intensely spicy and peppery, just like I was smoking a jalapeno. It wasn't unpleasant, so I continued, and it settled down a bit but stayed deliciously spicy. It didn't ash until halfway, and at that point traces of coffee were mixing into the smoke. It was a good smoke, and I wish now I had saved more; only a couple are left. But I wouldn't recommend that anyone buy them, given how poor they started out and how long they stayed bad, even with aging. There are just too many other good cigars on the market that are fine for smoking right after purchase.
