Gatekeeper already had pedigree, and the Diamond takes that blend into a limited 6 1/4 x 54 vitola pressed into a sharp rhombus instead of the usual round shape. Made in the Dominican Republic with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers, it leans full with a peppery core and a touch of sweetness. Ernesto Perez-Carrillo helped create the blend, so the Diamond feels polished and special, with enough spice and structure for smokers who want a toro that stands out before the first cut.
