Ashton Heritage Puro Sol Belicoso No. 2 5 Pack
Ashton Heritage Puro Sol No. 2
Ashton Heritage Puro cigars are steeped in the tradition and honor of Ashton's magnificent reputation for excellence. They bear the name 'Puro Sol' because the wrapper, filler and binder are composed of all sun grown tobaccos. These cigars also feature an oily Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, resulting in one stunning smoke. Be prepared for the Puro Sol's sweet flavor and texture with a foundation of deep and marvelously satisfying flavor.
As a long time fan of both Ashton and cammies, compound the fact that they are #7 on Cigar Aficionado's 2012 list, I thought this was a no brainer. I must tell you though, I was not impressed. The burn, draw, and construction are definitely there, but they seriously lack any complex flavor whatsoever. My recommendation is to try a five pack for the novelty, then return to your usual cammie cigars... just as I have.
Very average cigar. After all the hype, I decided to try one. A very mild, before dinner cigar, but not very flavorfull or complex. I detected a slight earthy flavor and that's it.
This is a pretty fantastic smoke..medium to full strength. Excellent aroma, draw and creamy smoke production on par with the best out there. Immediate take hold power. Excellent burn. I kept thinking 1964 when I smoked this. Aged in taste not tangy for a cam. Get them in 5s when available.
I purchased a five pack at auction and let the cigars sit in my humidor for a few weeks. The resulting cigars are very similar to Fuentes' Don Carlos. Full flavor, slightly peppery, superb.
