2012 By Oscar Sumatra

Oscar Valladares launched his company in 2012, the same year the Mayan calendar predicted the end of the world. Lucky for us, both survived. The 2012 Sumatra wraps a core of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos in a rich Ecuadorian Sumatra seed wrapper, box-pressed Cuban-style right in Honduras. Medium-bodied and smooth, it holds its own from the opening notes to the final third.

Cedar and leather set the tone early, followed by light baking spices that keep your palate curious without overwhelming it. Coffee and toasted almonds round out the finish in the best possible way. Oscar and master blender Byron Duarte found the sweet spot with this one. Add a few to your humidor today.
