It all started as an annual, limited-release cigar…but Jon Huber & Co. couldn’t keep a lid on Tennessee Waltz. It turned out to be such a runaway smash, that cigar lovers demanded more – and the powers that be agreed, approving Crowned Heads’ Tennessee Waltz cigars for regular, full-time production!

The Origin of Tennessee Waltz Cigars
Originally brought in under the ‘Lawless Day’ theme with their Yellow Rose brand, these Crowned Heads cigars were released once a year in only one size and initially exclusive to Tennessee and Texas retailers, respectively. The ‘exclusive’ tag made these premiums the objects of envy and desire for everybody else. We’re not sure if that was what the Crowned Heads folks intended - but if it was, it worked. 

Since 2014, Tennessee Waltz and Yellow Rose have become an anticipated staple for humidors across the country, even if retailers could only get a box or two for that release. The release year’s size didn’t matter; the cigars flew off the shelf just the same. 

All that changed in late 2025, when Tennessee Waltz got a facelift and three full-time sizes for continuous production. According to Crowned Heads President and co-owner, Jon Huber, “The demand from retailers and consumers outside of Tennessee over the years led us to the decision to expand the brand and finally give this extraordinary blend the full stage it deserves.”

The “extraordinary blend” Huber speaks of consists of a dark, rich, and oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper grown in the USA, and prime Nicaraguan leaves used for both binder and filler.
