When Hoyo de Monterrey introduced the Dark Knight in 2000, it set out to prove that Connecticut Broadleaf could be elegant and powerful at the same time. Rolled at the HATSA factory in Cofradia, Honduras, each stick pairs Dominican, Honduran, and Nicaraguan long-fillers with a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, then wraps the whole package in a proprietary Connecticut Havano Grueso, a thick, dark, ebony leaf with a deep oily shine that lives up to its name. Medium to medium-full strength, and a slow burner from start to finish.

Toasty coffee and dark baking chocolate open things up, smooth and generous from the first draw. Cedar spice and leather weave in behind them, then a sweet cherry note surfaces mid-smoke and keeps things interesting.
