Macanudo is a brand that is so well known that even non-cigar smokers are familiar with it. With history spanning over 70 years, it’s no surprise that it has morphed into a wide variety of blend and strength variations. This 2026 Sumatra introduction is one of two that are notable.
Made at STG’s factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, this rare box-pressed Macanudo boasts an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Broadleaf binder grown in the US, and long fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The brand is available in 3 popular sizes – 5 x 50 Robusto, 6 x 50 Toro, and 6 x 60 Gigante. The blend lends itself to a savory smoking experience unlike any other Macanudo, as expected, since it is the ONLY Macanudo cigar to be covered in Sumatra leaf. This cigar is medium-bodied but smooth with earthy undertones and hints of cacao, peanuts, and leather.
In their own words and on their own site, we can’t agree more on how the folks at Macanudo describe this smoking experience: “Rich, expressive, and full of character. Steak dinner. A glass of whiskey. The patio evening with friends. Sumatra brings the depth to match.”
Added bonus… Macanudo Sumatra defies the cigar world, allowing us to move these out the door for well below the $10-per-stick mark.
Having already served millions of satified smokers, today’s the day Macanudo satisfies a million more – we think this Macanudo Sumatra is bound to be one of the new favorites from their extensive lineup. Pick up a box or 5-pack today!
