In 2009, Jonathan Drew asked his Liga Privada rollers in Estelí to ease up on smoking the flagship blend so more boxes could leave the factory, and their answer changed the portfolio. They built their own in-house cigar using many of the same tobaccos, a blend that became Undercrown and eventually found its way from the factory floor into humidors around the world. A decade later, Drew Estate celebrated that origin story with Undercrown 10, a commemorative blend rolled with dark Otapan Negro Último Corte wrapper from San Andrés, Mexico over a hearty Nicaraguan binder and fillers from powerhouse regions like Estelí and Jalapa. The result sits firmly in the medium to full range, pushing deeper richness and complexity while still carrying the hallmarks that made Undercrown a staple from the start.

Each draw layers dense earth, bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and pepper, with the Mexican wrapper adding a syrupy, almost molasses-like sweetness that clings to the palate through a long, satisfying finish. Construction honors the line's factory-floor roots, with thick smoke output and an easy draw that lets you settle into the flavors without fussing over burn. Undercrown 10 feels like a reward both for the rollers who improvised that first factory blend and for smokers who have followed the brand over the last decade. It is a milestone cigar that tips its cap to Liga Privada while standing on its own as a fully realized, anniversary-worthy expression of the Undercrown story.
