Kyle Gellis turned 30 and wanted to celebrate with something bold. Warped Gran Reserve 1988 is the fullest-bodied cigar he's ever made, built entirely from Aganorsa tobacco, Corojo wrapper included. The 5 1/4" x 52 robusto pulls leather, espresso, dark chocolate, and black pepper into a profile that sits firmly at full strength. Aging Aganorsa leaf in this configuration amplifies richness without sacrificing balance. Gellis named it after his birth year and limited production to make each box count. And it did, earning Warped the number 3 spot in the cigar of the year honors by Cigar Aficionado in 2019. The Nicaraguan puro burns slow and even, demanding attention and rewarding patience.
