Asylum 13 Oblongata cigars are the sister act to the Asylum 13 Medulla and also qualify as being among the brand's most ambitious and flavorful successes. The most obvious difference between the two lines is that all of the Oblongata shapes are box-pressed.
The so-listed “Natural” Oblongata selections are puros pressed in a flawless Honduran Corojo wrapper over Honduran binder and fillers grown in the Jamastran Valley on the CLE farm. The cigars are presented in five shapes: a 5” x 50 Robusto, 6” x 52 Toro, 6” x 60 Gordo, plus two super-sized Grandes – a 7” x 70, and an 6” x 80. The cigars are remarkably creamy and well-balanced, offering you a medium-full smoke with notes of leather, earth, espresso, and baking spices.
The Asylum 13 Oblongata Maduro cigars boast a dark and naturally sweet Mexican San Andrés Moron wrapper pressed around the same all-Honduran tobacco core. All five sizes are shown here and offer a little more body and strength than the Corojo. The smoke offers excellent balance with hearty notes of black pepper, leather, cedar, caramel, espresso, and earth. Plus, the box-pressed shapes slow the rate at which each cigar burns, so you also get a lot more delicious hangtime.
