CAO Arcana Firewalker cigars are the second release in this limited edition series which debuted in 2021 and features some of the world’s most fascinating curing and fermentation methods. The first and now former release, CAO Arcana Mortal Coil, featured Andullo tobacco—an archaic Dominican fermentation process that resulted in a bold, peppery cigar with a medium-full body and an earthy sweetness. And if you thought that cigar was awesome, just wait till you try the Firewalker.
Made in one size, a 6½” x 56 Toro, the CAO Arcana Firewalker blend boasts an Ecuadoran Habano Rosado wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos that have been aged using the Chincagre method—a primary aging process used by local tobacco farmers in Western Nicaragua. Now about that Nicaraguan filler: Grown in the Masatepe region, the tobacco is placed into a pilón that is buried deep in the volcanic soil. The subterranean conditions allow the tobacco to ferment naturally, locking in an inherently sweet and aromatic quality. After spending two months underground the pilón is transferred to the main factory for nine months of secondary fermentation.
Rick Rodriguez, CAO’s blender/ambassador said, “The Arcana series is an opportunity for us to unite CAO fans with rare tobacco methods they might not otherwise learn about on their own.”
A befitting cigar for more experienced palates and collectors, Arcana Firewalker is medium-plus in body with plenty of depth in a unique, layered smoke that melds the spice of Ecuador Habano tobacco with the Chincagre-aged fillers that lend an earthy-sweetness to the mix.
Limited to 5,000 20-count boxes for the U.S. market, there’s no better way to experience the full-frontal flavor of Chincagre-aged tobacco. Add a box to your cart today before they disappear.
