Created by A. Turrent to showcase the new, modern face of the Mexican tobacco industry, Casa Turrent Origins cigars are presented in one size and span four different wrappers: Miami sports a Mexican Connecticut wrapper; Cuba is rolled in a Mexican Criollo leaf; Nicaragua features an Habano Vuelta Arriba (HVA) wrapper, while the San Andrés boasts a Negrito San Andrés maduro wrapper. Additionally, the tobaccos are cured with a new technique developed by Turrent, which they call "tabaco quemado de troja". or "pilón burnt tobacco."
"We had a lot of tobacco bales that reached temperatures too high in the bales," said Alejandro Turrent. "We didn’t throw that tobacco away, but kept it. We realized that the first tobaccos getting burnt in the bales were the leaves of the highest quality, because they have more essential oils. So we started experimenting with that tobacco, and with a lot of those leaves, we got very nice results. They turned out a bit spicy, like young tobacco, but also a bit sweet like aged tobacco."
The result is a virtual buffet of full-flavored, Mexican-made cigars that cover every level of cigar smoking experience. The Casa Turrent Origins selections will more than satisfy your craving for rich tobacco flavor – it will change the way you look at Mexican cigars forever. Find the wrapper blend that's right for you and add them to your next Famous order.
