Crowned Heads Belgian Blue cigars were introduced in 2024 as a limited edition blend and brand addition to the Crowned Heads portfolio. In this case, the blend was inspired by the Belgian Blue breed of cattle that originated in Belgium during the 19th century and are known for their strength and lean, muscular physique. With that spirit in mind, Crowned Heads blended Belgian Blue to be, as company co-founder John Huber put it: “Full in flavor first, full in body second.”
Made at TacaNicsa in Estelí, Nicaragua, the box-pressed blend consists of a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over Ecuador binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos compounded by 75% ligero. Now, that’s muscular. Huber adds: “The base leaves selected have more thickness and texture resulting in more strength and better combustion, while the profile is simultaneously strong and smooth.”
