Nicaraguan Selection 1000 cigars are medium-bodied premium cigars handmade at one of Nicaragua's top factories. The cigars are blended with Nicaraguan longfiller tobaccos rolled in your choice of aromatic Indonesian wrappers with sweetened caps, or richer-tasting Broadleaf Maduro wrappers. The smoke is smooth, well-balanced and earthy with notes of caramel and sweet spice on the finish. If you're a bargain hunter, order a bundle now and taste for yourself. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
Recently I purchased about 12 or 14 bundles of various FSS Nicaraguan Selection cigars. With the budget getting tight, due to the current price on everything we buy, it was time to go hunting for a less costly cigar, I ve been an on and off FSS customer for 30 years, Way back when the store was still in NYC and Arthur and Lew were the only 2 rock stars who held the line on prices during the first boom, I became a regular with FSS, The original FSS Nic 3000 aka the Oliva X was a cigar I smoked thousands of. I then moved on to Diesel Unlimited Maduro and have smoked 10,000 of those. I normally like a full bodied smoke, so I was cautious when buying these FSS NIC 1000 S. I only bought one bundle of these due to them being called medium. Well, now that I ve smoked one, I wish I would have bought 10 bundles of these instead of 1 during the sale. These are very well made with a gorgeous dark wrapper. They are old school and 100% prfect medium bodied with a nice array of sweet Maduro flavors. This is the first medium bodied cigar I ve smoked in ages that is absolutely delicious. It smokes perfectly leaving a nice ash that s fairly firm, behind. I say old school, because back in the day, this would have been considered a full bodied cigar, Then the new young crop of bold blenders came along and really re invented the flavor profile of cigars. You have Litto Gomez who spins some of the most insanely full bodied cigars ever, You have AJ Fernandez who can spin em from full to mild and rarely miss, You have Dion Gialito who is the master at complex layered flavor profiles. And then you have whoever spun this FSS NIC 1000 who spins an old school, very well made, perfectly pleasant and medium bodied Maduro gem. I m waiting for the next sale and I m buying more. I m cheap only because I smoke 6 to 8 cigars a day seven days a week, If I had to compare this with something else currently on the market right now, it ssimple. It s the Liga Undercrown minus the harshness, and a notch or two less full in the body, but with plenty of very pleasant and pleading flavor to spare. I d call it a wonderful morning smoke. I know, long winded review, but Skates loves when I get long in the tooth. Thanks for the Halloween Sale Famous. Hi Arthur, Hi Gary. Ceph in Chicago.
Tried this finally and was really impressed. Firm roll, even burn, slightly sweet, superb ash & great flavor, right to the nub. Get a bundle!
I ll start with 4*s reputation only! Why these 1000 s use to be my go to cigars until I hit a bad lot. I said what happened to a great everyday cigar. I wondered why there are No current reviews. Is it like me and hit a bad streak? Well its 2022 and I m going to give them a try again. Oh what memories. Even the Flor De Oliva had a bad streak and oh so close in comparison ; AT
I have been through three bundles of the Nicaraguan Maduro Robustos and they were great. Thought I d try these Torpedo s for when I had a little extra time. On my 2nd bundle and I have no complaints. Out of almost 5 bundles I haven t had a bad cigar yet - that s a pretty good track record.
For a budget priced cigar I can t imagine any better. A significant pepper blast to start the 1st inch, then mellows right out for a smooth enjoyable smoke. I definitely will reorder these.
For me, it is the perfect size...Excellent draw...Smooth burn from beginning to end...very comfortable to hold...
construction - perfectburn - even and stays lit, lasts a long timetaste - complex, interesting, satisfying. I burn these to the nubbin before I chuck em on the driveway.cost to benefit ratio - stellar valueI hate to leave such a good review, now the price will go up!
I ve been smoking cigars for over 30 years. I ve tasted them all. I am always looking for a good bargain for I have discovered over the years you don t have to pay lots of money for a good cigar, but you have to be willing to take chances. If you are looking for a very decent nicaraguan maduro that you could smoke everyday, give this a try. Good burn. Good construction. Lots of leathery chocolate, with a bit of espresso and a pleasing sweetness. Just what I personally look for in a Nicaraguan smoke. Let s see what they are like after a couple months in the humi.
It isn t expensive and it tastes good.
People always say some of these famous cigars are very good for the price but my question is this for what price are they not good because I feel like you could take the band off of some of these cigars and put a name brand band on and you would get no complaints
