Few cigars have as deep a backstory as La Aurora 1495 Nicaragua. While the history books of our youth told of how Columbus discovered the Americas, his actual landfall was made in Hispaniola when his flagship, Santa Maria, ran aground on the island and sank. His arrival and Spain's ensuing colonization gave rise to what is now the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Founded in 1495, Santiago de los Caballeros is the second largest city in the Dominican Republic and home to La Aurora Cigars, and as such, they honored it with a series called La Aurora 1495. The Nicaragua addition is comprised of a five-part ensemble of tobaccos: a Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper sits atop a Dominican Corojo binder that nestles long-fillers featuring Dominican Corojo, Dominican Ligero, and hand-selected Nicaragua tobaccos to reveal nuances of spice, earth, chocolate, and a lingering finish.

These are very good every day smokes that have a good burn, construction, flavors and good aroma that won t disappoint...
I like this cigar. It’s robust slow burning and a nice natural taste.
Cigar is awesome, tried them and fell in love. Great construction, burn, flavor, medium bodied smoke.
5 star -lots of delicious flavors with a little pepper
I enjoyed the 1495 Nicaragua robusto LaAurora makes, Full flavored nice draw. tight ash. To be honest ...when I bought them. I thought I was purchasing the 1495 robusto. But not disappointed. The Nicaragua stood up
This is a great cigar, and the price makes it even more impressive. Sweet habano, not too peppery but peppery enough to make it interesting, excellent burn. Will definitely keep some in my humidor all the time for my afternoon smokes.
TERRIFIC CIGAR! SMOOTH AND DELICIOUS. A BARGAIN.
Must say that this stick was a delightful surprise as I first obtained some from an Auction. Since then I have made purchase @ Retail price. The flavor is accentuated by what one Reviewer claimed to have Molasses, Brown Sugar nuances. The range transitions well during each Third of the smoke. I truly wonder why these are not drawing twice the price. I am a Habano Fan and I keep this rascal in my rotation with zeal.
From start to finish this is a rich, full bodied smoke with a loooong finish. Every pull of this cigar yields a great draw with a hefty amount of smoke that is layered with notes of cedar, pepper, and leather that don t quit.
I enjoy this cigar and will probably buy again.
