This sister blend to Macanudo Inspirado White. Released in 2017, this heartier blend handcrafted at General Cigar Dominicana features another Jhonys Diaz creation that entices the palate with a full-bodied, full-flavored promise and keeps it. Moving away from the traditional Dominican long-filler blends normally associated with Macanudo cigars, the core tobaccos are all Nicaraguan-grown in Estelí from proprietary seeds grown, then specially fermented to produce the utmost in strength and flavor. These tobaccos are framed in an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder that also enhances the intensity and taste of the U.S. Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper.
The wrapper itself is a tobacco-growing marvel, since the plants were left to ripen on the stalk. The resulting leaf is rich, radiant and offers a new dimension in sweetness. All told, the smoke brims with bold notes of earth and spice that ride on a subtle undercurrent of coffee, cocoa, light pepper and other intriguing flavors.
"Macanudo Inspirado Black represents sophistication, and is truly for the initiated smoker," says Diaz. "It's about tobaccos that deliver incredible full-bodied flavor and complexity in a cigar that?s balanced and pleasurable to smoke.? These are great smokes that are very smooth with a black pepper and hints of black coffee flavors...
I am visiting in Chicago and went to a local smoke shop and purchase one just to try it. I?m very satisfied. Sweet taste of the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Smooth and great tasting smoke.
Nice start with notes of coconut and toasted almond which lasted well into the body of the cigar. With about 1/3 left flavor went to Baklava - yum! I have never been a big fan of Mac s but this Black series is a winner. I WILL buy again.
Fantastic flavors, spicy, sweet leaning, licorice and a little chocolate, a bit woodsy. Good even burn and draw with punch cut. Is now my go-to cigar. Hope they are around for some time.
I love this cigar in the evening on the patio it?s very smooth but with a little pepper on the finish. I can smoke this one every day.
Smooth and dark.
A most enjoyable cigar.
The best as of yet.
Beautiful full body smoke. One of my favorites for the price. Highly recommend!
