Until now, Foundation Menelik cigars were one of those rare treats that you could only get if you attended one of Nick Melillo's Foundation Cigar Co. in-store events. So, if you missed it, get ready to smoke it. However, these portly Rothschilds made at the Aganorsa Leaf factory will only be available on a very limited basis.
Soft-pressed, capped with a pigtail, and adorned with a beautifully designed band, Menelik is named for the first emperor of Ethiopia, Menelik I, widely believed to be the son of King Solomon. His name in Arabic translates to "Son of the Wise Man," so fans of Melillo's El Gueguense selection will get the connection.
Menelik boasts a dark, oily Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper that conceals a full-bodied blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos grown in Estelí, Condega, and Jalapa bound in a Jalapa Corojo '99 binder. The smoke is rich, earthy, and well-balanced with notes of chocolate, espresso beans, and a hint of molasses.
Menelik is made in only one size and offered in boxes of 12 cigars and singles. Now, far be it from us to rush you, but this unicorn cigar will not last long until the next shipment, so add some to your cart today.
