Carenas cigars are another top-flight creation from the multi-talented Grupo de Maestros. Blended and handcrafted in Honduras at the Flor de Copan factory, Saint Luis Rey Carenas starts with a rich-tasting Nicaraguan wrapper seamlessly rolled around a Honduran Broadleaf binder and Honduran long fillers.
The line is named for the Puerto de Carenas (known today as the Port of Havana). During the 16th century, mariners on their way to the West Indies would dock at Puerto de Carenas for repairs. Additionally, the port served as a departure point for exports, most notably tobacco headed for the world’s first tobacco factory in Seville, Spain. (Check out the Spanish galleon illustration on the inner lid of the boxes.)
Presented in four popular frontmarks, Saint Luis Rey Carenas cigars are medium in body and well-balanced serving rich notes of earth, sweet and peppery spices, roasted coffee, and more. The Toro 6x52 shape and size of this cigar was named a top 20 selection in 2021 by Cigar Aficionado, which is an amazing accomplishment to achieve within its first year of production.
This smooth-smoking gem is ideal for cigar smokers of every experience, Honduran tobacco lovers, and of course fans of Saint Luis Rey. Add a box to your cart today.
