Diamond Crown cigars have been blessing cigar lover's humidors for decades now, and the appeal for these gems has only risen year after year. They are known throughout the smoking community as being one of the best cigars on the market, and usually earn the honorable spot amongst special occasion smokes. But it's not hard to find out why these cigars are so good or why these are usually stashed in the deepest trenches of stogie lover's humidors, to be smoked in celebration of that promotion they're waiting on, or the birth of a newborn.
Julius Caeser Newman was an Austria-Hungary immigrant new to the United States, pursuing the American dream like many before him and the millions that followed. In 1895, in J.C.'s barn basement apartment in Cleveland, Ohio, the J.C. Newman Cigar Company was born. Having been well received since the barn doors opened (literally), the company expanded rapidly. Lovers of the leaf clamored over these new stogies, recognizing their high quality and complexity. 100 years later, the late J.C.'s son Stanford took the reigns, and introduced a cigar to honor his father's legacy. He called it the Diamond Crown. This cigar was like no other, with extra special attention to detail being taken as to not sully his father's name.
He presented his idea to the Godfather of the industry, Carlos Fuente Sr., the patriarch of the Arturo Fuente cigar company. His idea was simple: Diamond Crown cigars would be released in collaboration to celebrate the late J.C. Newman, and the 100th anniversary of the Arturo Fuente brand. The rest, as they say, is history. Production started immediately on these unusually beefy cigars, and they were ultimately released in 1995 during the height of the cigar boom. The demand was so great for these gems, which were to be released on the west coast of the United States and spread east, that they simply could not keep stock on the west coast. It wasn't for another few years that the east Coast received the Diamond Crown.
Today Diamond Crown is still going strong, with new additions to the brand such as the Julius Caeser and Maximus. Each line is still under a limited production run in order to stay true to the company's vision of only using the rarest and most exquisite tobacco leaves on the market. Luckily, Famous Smoke Shop's massive warehouse holds the largest inventory of Diamond Crown cigars at discount prices. So no matter if you're looking for an incredible everyday smoke that will send your senses on a roller coaster of complexity, or if you're simply looking for a celebration cigar, these are the cigars you've been searching for.
