Griffin's Cigars are mild to medium bodied Dominican cigars using Cuban seed long-filler and binder with a velvety smooth U.S. Connecticut Shade wrapper. They are well known for being impeccably smooth, creamy, well-balanced, and rich in flavor with a mellow, cedary, nutty finish and a wonderfully sweet aroma. Every time you light one up you'll notice the consistency.
The newest edition to the line is the Griffin's Special Edition 2013 Casino Cigars. Another luscious stick produced by Davidoff of Geneva, utilizing only the most perfectly aged Cuban-seed tobaccos rolled in supple Ecuadorian Clara Rojiza wrappers.
It all started in the 1980's with the very popular and hip Griffin's Club in Geneva, Switzerland. The club's owner, Bernard H. Grobet was a cigar fanatic, and one of Zino Davidoff's regular customers. In 1984, with help from Hendrik Kelner, who had just opened his Tabacos Dominicanos factory in The Dominican Republic, Grobet made his own cigar, and named it after his famous nightclub. The Griffin's were a hit in Switzerland and in 1989 Grobet began selling them in the U.S. through Oettinger Imex, which owned the Davidoff brand. Interestingly enough, it was Grobet who introduced Zino Davidoff to Kelner and helped move Davidoff production from Cuba to the Dominican Republic.
If you're looking for a luxurious premium with a creamy mild flavor profile, and perfect construction, a Griffin's Cigar is a great buy for both new and experienced cigar smokers.
