Old timey cigars at old timey prices: Topper cigars have been a staple in American tobacco since 1896. Topper cigars began their story during the late 1800s in quaint little McSherrytown, PA. Like most tobacco companies at the time, their cigars were made with Havana tobacco, rolled and sold in the USA.

By 1960, to compete with rising labor costs, an aging workforce, and the Cuban embargo - Topper shifted to machine-made cigars. Topper remained unique in by crafting their cigars without fillers or homogenized wrapper.

Chris Topper, the 4th generation owner of Topper Cigar Co. moved the company to Meriden, CT, bringing the cigars closer to their Connecticut growing fields. Chris's boldest move in 2013 was creating the Topper Original Handmde, the first cigar in company history made outside the country. Topper Original Handmade was initiated into the family at the Dunfort Holding S.A. in the Dominican Republic. These old school styled handmade cigars feature their staple U.S. CT broadleaf wrappers with a broadleaf filler blend of Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Honduran filler.

In the spirit of the love of the leaf, Topper also distributes Tuscarora- for those looking for their Muniemaker Fix. Now made by F. X. Smith and Sons, another heritage company that was founded in 1884, Tuscarora has that same old timey flavor and price you've come to know and love.
