Dissident Cigars
Jason Webster and Neil Edwards launched Dissident in 2013, but the brand went dormant until Benjamin Holt revived it in 2019 with fresh perspective and edgy packaging. Rolled at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, the relaunched lineup includes Soap Box, a full-bodied Brazilian-wrapped blend, and Bloc, a creamy, zesty Maduro.
Holt's goal was clear: create cigars for a new generation of smokers by learning from brands that came and went. That forward-thinking approach shaped Dissident into something modern, bold, and unapologetic. The blends bring substance behind the style, giving smokers boutique quality with a rebellious edge.
For fans of Nicaragua's darker, more intense side, Dissident offers a fresh take. The brand may be young, but the tobacco and construction earn respect. If you appreciate cigars with attitude and solid backing, Dissident is worth exploring.
