By Fred Lunt
My god, will you look at that! The weather is on par – maybe it’s not perfect, but it’s just right to grab your buddies and head to the course for a round of golf and cigars. So, while you’re dusting off the clubs, grab some of these hot new cigars that we’ve received – just in time for the new season!
From lunch at the club house to wrestling your ball out of the clutches of the sand trap, we’ve got a new cigar for you and your friends. Check it out…
Trinidad Esteli by Plasencia
Maybe you’ve snuck a smoke or two while wintry winds swept the porch, but those days are moving behind us and the lush, green fairways are calling. Now that you’ve finally set that first tee time and are taking in the fresh spring air, reach for the new Trinidad Esteli by Plasencia. This Nicaraguan puro is an ace with lush notes of flowers, cream, and nutmeg. Intrigued? Check out the Cigar Advisors’ full review here.
Romeo y Julieta Montague
So maybe you’re a bit more rusty than you thought, like 93 over par with a few trips to the sand trap. While your score may have crashed and burned, your cigar may as well be a good one. Cue the new Montague cigar by AJ Fernandez: while Romeo y Julieta has long been a favorite for the golf course, this new blend is a hearty double eagle blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers in a full-bodied Broadleaf wrapper. When the game has you seeing red, take a swing at these new Montagues instead.
Encore by E.P. Carrillo
There’s nothing quite like a club sandwich and Bloody Mary after a sweltering day on the course, so let’s finish the drive with a super-premium new cigar from Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. We had the pleasure to sit down with EPC and discuss this delicious new cigar over coffee where he described the two-year process, utilizing a rare tercio method, to age the tobaccos just right. As luck would have it, Ernie said his favorite palate cleanser is tomato juice – we thought the addition of vodka would work too, though.
