XIKAR PRODUCT REVIEW: Xikar Envoy High Performance Triple Cigar Case

By Gary Korb

The cigar case – the uber ride for cigars, and one of the bare necessities avid cigar smokers count among their collection of cigar accessories. Offered in practically every shape, size, and color, and choosing the right cigar case for you can often be as challenging as buying a new car. On that note, in keeping with their “high performance” cars design theme of late, Xikar, Inc has introduced the Xikar Envoy Triple Case “High Performance” model made of genuine, top-grain leather.

The first order of business for any cigar case is to protect your precious primos. The Xikar Envoy not only protects your cigars with its crush-proof body, but the upper half has soft Armada leather padding for an extra layer of protection. The leather is stitched in a quilted design like the seats in a high performance luxury car or hot rod with red accent stitching, so the case not only has rich looks, it feels nice and soft in your hand, and more comfortable when stuffed in a jacket pocket.

xikar envoy high performance 3 cigar case review
Hot rod look, luxury car feel. Gary says, “it pays to go the extra mile for quality” – and this Xikar cigar case has it.

The Xikar Envoy Triple Case telescopes from 4¼-inches to 7-inches, so you can carry three cigars up to a Churchill format in length and as wide as a 60 ring gauge, which is another nice option since 60-ring cigars have become so commonplace. Inside, the case is lined with Spanish cedar for maintaining ambient humidity, just like your humidor.

The top half of the case also sports a metal cap designed like an engine cooling fin, which reinforces the strength of the case, while adding a note of muscle car flair. (Some say it looks more like a grill, but either way, makes little difference to the case’s “cool” factor.) And it’s real metal, too. You can tell by the heavier feel of the Envoy’s top half.

At $89.99 MSRP (expect that to be lower at most retail cigar stores), the Xikar Envoy Triple Case High Performance isn’t that far out of reach. Like your humidor, lighter, or cigar cutter, it pays to go the extra mile for quality, and this case will pay for itself over time. Moreover, the Envoy Triple Case HP comes with the Xikar’s “Guaranteed for Life” promise.
