Following its sneak preview at the 2023 PCA Show in Las Vegas this summer, the highly-anticipated Alec Bradley Fine & Rare BCN-143 cigar is now on its way to cigar stores for its retail debut. The 2,500 cigars made only for the U.S. market are slated to hit shelves on Saturday, November 11.
Fine & Rare BCN-143 is a 10 leaf, box-pressed masterpiece that contains 10 unique tobacco varietals in one blend. Handcrafted by just one pair of master artisans at the acclaimed Raices Cubanas factory in Danlí, Honduras, Fine & Rare is made with tobaccos from the finest crops, each meticulously hand selected to meet an array of exacting standards set forth by the Alec Bradley team. During the blending phase, each cigar is tested across multiple vitolas until the format that elicits the deepest complexity is ultimately chosen.
Presented in a 7”x50 vitola, BCN-143 is a medium-bodied cigar that begins with an Honduran Trojes Criollo 98 wrapper from the La Vega Coyol Farm in Honduras. A double binder of Honduran Trojes Criollo 98 and Nicaraguan Esteli Criollo lies below, and the filler features a combination of Honduran Jamastran Criollo 98, Nicaraguan Jalapa Criollo 98, and Honduran Trojes Criollo 98 ligeros, plus Honduran Jamastran Criollo 98, Honduran Trojes Corojo 99, Honduran Jamastran Corojo and Nicaraguan Jalapa Corojo 99 visos.
The result is a smoke that starts with balanced opening notes of honey and natural sweetness and builds to include notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. After that, the sweetness yields to notes of earth and wood. Cascading into a long finish, notes of honeyed sweetness, hazelnut, and earth envelope the palate.
