Cigar News: Cohiba Spectre 2022 Cigar Set to Ship in March

Only 600 Boxes Produced

SANTIAGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC — The artisans of Cohiba® cigars are proud to debut the fourth expression of Cohiba Spectre, a small batch creation that marries the art of cigar making to the luxury of indulgence.

Blended by master artisans, Cohiba Spectre is crafted with a five-nation blend. Each leaf represents the finest example of the respective growing region from which it was harvested. Proprietary aging and fermentation techniques followed producing a cigar that offers an intriguing and complex smoking experience.

Handcrafted in Santiago, Dominican Republic at General Cigar Dominicana, Cohiba Spectre boasts a rare, long-aged 2008 Brazilian wrapper leaf. It was chosen as equally for the intricate notes it imparts to the palate, as for its lustrous appearance. This also marks the first time a Brazilian wrapper has been used for a Cohiba Spectre release.

Grown in General’s “innovation” fields in Mao, DR where the agronomists cultivate tobacco for small batch releases, the binder is a wrapper-quality hybrid leaf. Crossing a Pelo d’Oro with a Connecticut leaf General Cigar’s agronomists have created what they call Pelo d’Oro Connecticut.

The fillers are Honduran Jamastran, Olancho San Agustin and La Entrada with Nicaraguan Estelí Ligero and Viso leaves that marry beautifully with Dominican Piloto Cubano. The result is a rich and layered, medium-to-full-bodied experience with notes of cocoa, baking-spice sweetness, and a slight earthiness.

“Cohiba Spectre 2022 embodies our tradition of creating exceptional smoking experiences,” said Sean Williams, brand ambassador for Cohiba. “We spent two years developing this extraordinary cigar, calling upon our passion for tobacco, commitment to craftsmanship and our love of design.”

Additionally, the cigars are made by two elite teams of cigar makers revered for their exceptional dexterity and unwavering passion for their craft: Ms. Carmen Carolina Toribio and Mr. Bernavel Sanches, roller and buncher, respectively, and Ms. Isabel Rodriguez with Ms. Rosmery Gomez, roller and buncher, respectively were selected to handmake Cohiba Spectre 2022.

Cohiba Spectre 2022 will be released in a one size, 6” x 52 Toro. Only 600 boxes of 10 Cohiba Spectre 2022 have been produced and that’s not all…

Beneath the elegant, soft-touch matte box, a customized hydraulic system quietly lifts all ten cigars. Each cigar is protected in individual gold and silver tubes and enhanced with exclusive individual humidification from Integra Boost® to ensure optimal enjoyment of the blend.

Following a mid-March 2023 ship date, a box of Cohiba Spectre 2022 can be purchased at select retailers for $1,299.90. Individual cigars will sell for a suggested retail price of $129.99. Once the blend is depleted, it will not be re-released. CA
