Cigar News: Punch Launches New Punch Golden Era Cigars Line

New Full Production Line Boasts Corojo Tobaccos from Eiroa Family

Punch wants adult cigar lovers to discover the beauty and versatility of Corojo tobacco with Punch Golden Era cigars. The new, three-cigar collection will be a full-time addition to the Punch stable.

Corojo Tobacco had a starring role during the “golden age” of cigars. It was the wrapper of choice until tobacco diseases and mold brought Corojo to the brink of extinction.

Working with the Eiroa family in Honduras—arguably the world’s best producer of Cuban seed Corojo—Punch is bringing Corojo tobacco back to its former glory. Punch Golden Era cigars are made with Honduran-grown, Cuban seed Corojo wrapper and binder with a filler blend comprised of Honduran-grown Habano and Cuban-seed Corojo tobacco.

“The Eiroa family has perfected Corojo tobacco and we are excited to bring it to life with Punch Golden Era. This tobacco delivers a silky, golden wrapper, a binder with ideal combustibility and a filler that produces unique spicy notes and a spectrum of nuances,” said Punch brand manager John Hakim. Even their advertising boasts: “This IS your grandfather’s Corojo.”
