Don Lino 1989 Robusto
Score: 8.6
By Gary Korb
A well-packed cigar embellished with a rich-looking, red and gold embossed band. The outer wrapper sports a silky, even toned U.S. Connecticut leaf that’s virtually flawless and a shade darker in color than most Connecticut.
The smoke was equally silky with a wonderfully rich, creamy, medium-bodied, yet full flavor that was nutty, toasty, and naturally sweet with excellent balance.
Overall the smoke was very consistent, never turning bitter or hot, and I smoked as much of it as I could short of burning my thumb.
A very impressive cigar that’s been flying under the radar since its release, and well worth trying.
