#nowsmoking @famoussmokeshop: The Tavicusa by Rocky Patel Robusto is a deftly handcrafted, full-bodied cigar with a well-rounded, “salted caramel”-like character.

Factory: Fabrica de Tavicusa – Estelí, Nicaragua
Size: 5½” x 50
Strength: Full
Wrapper: Mexican San Andrés Maduro
Binder & Filler: Nicaragua (Condega, Jalapa, Estelí)
Dominant Flavors: Earth, sweet tobacco, spice, salt, oak, espresso

Where it’s at: Made for the 8th anniversary of Rocky’s Tavicusa factory in Estelí, this dark, deftly handcrafted cigar offers a sweet, spicy, and earthy start. Some saltiness cuts-in on the dance, yet mixes well with the sweet spice. (Think salted caramel.) Oak and espresso notes arrive just past the midsection and everything’s in bloom. The cigar is creamy, well-balanced, and full-flavored, but transitions to a much headier smoke in the last act. Not far removed from the Rocky Patel Royale, and a must-try for smokers of bold Nicaraguan blends a la AJ Fernandez.
