Cigar Q&A: Cigars with Cedar Outer Wrappers
Ever pay special attention to cigars with cedar sleeves?
Q. What's up with the cedar wrapper on some cigars? Is this just to look cool? (because it does). Protection?
A. Thanks for writing. Look cool? Yes, but not entirely. Although it does give the cigar a little more eye candy, the main reason is to protect the wrapper leaf. Secondly, cigars with cedar sleeves help maintain the "bouquet" the tobaccos have acquired during the cedar aging room process.
