Sixpoint The Crisp + Montecristo Cigar Pairing
What is a golf cigar? How do you pair a beer with a golf cigar? These questions have kept our greatest scholarly minds up at night for decades, or maybe not. We’re not scientists but the master brewers at Six Point Brewery sure are and they’ve concocted a new classic for the golf course that needs only the complement of a classic Montecristo and the company of friends. Check out why I picked the Montecristo No.1 and this modern boozy beauty for those crisp fall golf outings.
Cigar: Montecristo No.1
The Montecristo Classic is the standard to which all golf cigars are held to. While meticulously made at Tabacalera de Garcia, the No. 1 is a lengthy Lonsdale that brings out the bright exuberance of the Connecticut Shade wrapper. The mellow-medium body embraces but never overwhelms the palate with a toasty and nutty character with undertones of pecans and walnuts.

Beer: The Crisp Pilsner by Six Point Brewery
As I said before, we’re not scientists, but those brewers at Six Point sure are. Using innovative technology at their in-house lab, this American pilsner mixes old world craftsmanship with new, clean flavors. Taking inspiration from the Bavarian Alps, Six Point went straight to the farmers to source the best German hops possible. After “counting yeast cells in a German lab, and sinking liters in underground caves”, The Crisp was born. The Crisp fills the palate with citrus notes, a bouquet of floral aromas and a notably crisp, clean finish.
ABV: 5.4%
Beer Rating: 3.9/5
