How can I keep the gift box of anniversary cigars for my husband fresh until our special date?
A: Those are fine smokes. However, they will not make it to November unless you keep the box sealed and placed somewhere in the house where the room is cool and a little damp like a basement.
I suggest putting the factory box in a plastic storage container with a small kitchen sponge dampened (not soaked) with distilled water. Check the sponge once a week. If it dried-out, do it again and as often as you have to, until the special day. If it's still a little damp, let it be. With no additional humidification at all, they'll last at least a few weeks in their factory box.
