An Enhanced Homage to 2018’s Cigar of the Year
MIAMI, FL. — E.P. Carrillo Cigars has announced the launch of Encore Black. This new addition builds upon the legacy of the Encore selection that was awarded Cigar Aficionado’s #1 Cigar of the Year in 2018. Moreover, the Encore Black symbolizes the Perez-Carrillo family’s commitment to excellence in cigar craftsmanship.
The Encore Black is blended with an enhanced recipe of tobaccos from five unique growing regions. Starting with a lustrous Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, the binder is a Mexican San Andrés tobacco that surrounds a core of carefully selected fillers from Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa. The result is a complex and layered smoke, crafted to deliver a rich, full-bodied experience with a medium-full strength profile.
Additionally, in keeping with the tradition of E.P. Carrillo’s commitment to quality, every leaf in the Encore Black cigar has undergone an extensive 18 month hand fermentation. From there they get a minimum of three years of aging, followed by six months in the aging room after rolling. This process ensures a fusion of deep flavors with a captivating aroma, hallmarks of the Encore Black.
“Following our Encore, which was honored as Cigar Aficionado‘s Cigar of the Year in 2018 with the Majestic size, my family wanted to create something special with Encore Black,” said E.P.C. We’ve given it a lot of time to bring out the rich flavors and complexity that is unique to Connecticut Broadleaf wrappers.”
