These long (now officially) summer days leave plenty of room for cigars, don’t they? A warm breeze, a cold cooler full of beer, and a few of your favorite blends by your side. But what if that sea of familiar sticks in your humidor is leaving your palate a little…bored? It happens to us all – but the good news: Top New Cigars has a fix for that. Every other week, we showcase the biggest new cigar releases and tell you what you can expect from every puff. Looks like you showed up just in time.

Southern Draw Firethorn Factory Faux Pas Lancero

Wrapper: Nicaragua Rosado
Binder: Mexican San Andres
Filler: Nicaragua Pueblo Nuevo

Sometimes, mistakes turn into happy accidents. Such is the case with Southern Draw Firethorn Factory Faux Pas Lancero. When Robert Holt received one of his Firethorn shipments, it came with different primings of the Pueblo Nuevo fillers he expected, along with a hybrid cigar size that’s part Lancero, part Lonsdale. He took a sample, smoked it, and was blown away – instantly knowing he needed to share it. Famous picked up this rare and limited Southern Draw blend as an exclusive. The familiar white pepper, leather, and vanilla notes that Firethorn fans love are still there, with a slightly darker character. We love it and think you will too!

Camacho Factory Unleashed

Wrapper: Ecuador Corojo
Binder: Honduras
Filler: Dominican Republic, Honduras, & Nicaragua

Camacho’s latest budget-friendly blend, dubbed ‘Factory Unleashed’ is a delicious little firecracker with summer written all over it. The cigar’s smoke is part earthy and sweet, part peppery and bold, and oozing big flavors that range from coffee and cashews, to cedar, earth, and spice. But our favorite part is the Factory Unleashed shaggy foot, which not only removes the wrapper, but the binder, too. This allows you to taste the spicy, peppery filler tobaccos on their own before adding the Corojo wrapper’s signature sweetness. Let’s just say, between its price and flavor, it’s as ‘must-smoke cigar’ material as it gets!

La Gloria Cubana Medio Tiempo

Wrapper: Ecuador Sumatra
Binder: Connecticut Broadleaf
Filler: Connecticut Habano Medio Tiempo, Honduras, Nicaragua, & Dominican Republic

Oily. Rich. Sweet. La Gloria Cubana Medio Tiempo isn’t just a cigar…it’s practically dessert. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it had calories. To complement the sweeter primary flavors, Medio Tiempo’s blend includes tobaccos from Honduras and Nicaragua that provide a bold, darker flavor that smokes refined from start to finish. This LGC feels like a well-aged cigar out of the box, so in my opinion, there’s no need to let it sit and mature before lighting up. Try pairing it with a drier wine after sunset for an epic pairing under the stars. And for what it’s worth, it’s my favorite new release this year.
