CA Report: Top New Cigars (June 7 2021)

It really doesn’t feel like summer until June, does it? And before you know it…Father’s Day will be here…then the 4th of July (with your drunken brother-in-law falling off the picnic table bench, AGAIN). The good news is that both upcoming occasions are super stick friendly, and lucky you…we’ve got three new cigars in our humidor that’ll impress your dad as much as they’ll relax you after the hellish holiday picnic cleanup.

To start things off, there’s the highly-anticipated Undercrown 10 from Drew Estate, followed by All Saints Dedicacion, and finally, the affordable – and tasty – Alec Bradley Prensado Fumas. Check out our quick reviews and see which ones were made to be smoked by you!

Drew Estate Undercrown 10

Wrapper: Otapan Negro Ultimo Corte (Mexican San Andres)
Binder: T52 Connecticut Stalk Cut & Cured
Filler: Brazilian Mata Fina & Nicaragua Habano

Can you believe it’s been 10 years since Undercrown hit the shelves? Feels like it’s long been a classic by now – a constant in humidors everywhere. This is one of Drew Estate’s most consistent blends, just as great tasting today as it was a decade ago, and now they’ve got this special ‘Undercrown 10’ edition to commemorate its success.

Why Dad Will Love It:

Undercrown 10 is naturally sweet and bursting with creamy, nutty flavors and a dash of cocoa over warm spices. It’s full-bodied but never hits below the belt, so whether your pops is a smoking legend – or a smoking noob – he’ll be burning this one down to the nub. They’re on preorder as of the time I’m writing this but may be available by now (or will be soon)!

All Saints Dedicación

Wrapper: Mexican San Andres
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua

If your dad is anything like mine, he doesn’t settle on one brand, but instead, endlessly explores. When it comes to cigars, All Saints is as fresh as they come, and former CAO VP of Sales, Micky Pegg, has a steady hand at the helm for All Saints Dedicacion, the company’s first production blend.

Why Dad Will Love It:

With a solid ‘Maduro’ flavor profile, All Saints Dedicacion serves up notes of coffee, wood, citrus, and nuts…with plenty of Nicaraguan pepper behind it. This smoke goes all-in for the more adventurous dads who like their cigars full bore. What a great way to show your appreciation to his dedication to your upbringing!

Alec Bradley Prensado Fumas

Wrapper: Honduras Trojes
Binder: Nicaragua Jalapa
Filler: Nicaragua & Honduras

Alec Bradley Prensado getting crowned Cigar of the Year in 2012 has kept them in high demand for the past nine years (seriously…check, most of ‘em are out of stock!). And following closely behind that high demand is a high price tag.

Until now.

Because the AB family is so picky about perfection on the Prensado lineup, more cigars than usual are rejected – all because of visual blemishes that have zero impact on flavor. So they’re bundled up and sold for peanuts. No catch. Really. No. Catch.

Why Dad Will Love It:

Because it’s a true-blue Alec Bradley Prensado! All that roasty, toasty, award-winning deliciousness with notes of coffee and pepper are there for hundreds less than a box. HUNDREDS! Your dad always taught you to count your pennies, and this is one of the tastiest ways to show him you listened.
