New Cigar Arrivals from Romeo y Julieta, Upmann, & Abe Flores—See Our Reviews!

Ah, weekends at the ocean. They’re so close that I can practically taste the salty air. Like the infamous Mayor Vaughn once said, “…those beaches will be open!” My only question: if I bring my laptop, does it count as a workday?

Speaking of beaches, I never go without a handful of premiums in tow, but a trio of new cigars from Romeo y Julieta, H. Upmann, and A. Flores are making a strong case to be among the included for my next sunny getaway. Check ‘em out and see if you agree!

Which new cigars are you smoking right now? Let me know in the comments below.

Romeo y Julieta House of Romeo Nicaragua

Wrapper: Mexican San Andres
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua

Famous’ popular Romeo y Julieta House series has just welcomed a brand-new addition: Romeo y Julieta House of Romeo Nicaragua. The original House of Romeo has been an Advisor staff favorite since its release thanks to its savory sweetness. House of Romeo Nicaragua builds on that foundation with a richer disposition and bolder full-bodied profile that’s worthy of its Nicaraguan badge. If you see me smiling with my toes in the sand this summer, chances are I just smoked one!

H. Upmann 1844 Barbier

Wrapper: Connecticut Shade/Sumatra (Barber Pole)
Binder: Indonesia
Filler: Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, U.S. Broadleaf

A first for the company, H. Upmann, has released a barber pole cigar based on their iconic 1844 line called Barbier (German for barber). Barbier’s blend is comprised with tobaccos from four countries resulting in a blend that evokes flavors of vanilla, cedar, earth, and espresso—with a myriad of spices and black pepper. If you’ve never smoked a barber pole…here’s the basic benefit: it’s basically two cigars for the price of one, and you get to smoke ‘em at the same time. The cherry on top is Barbier’s medium body, making it an accessible smoke that virtually any cigar fan can enjoy.

A. Flores Serie Privada by PDR Cigars

Wrapper: Ecuador Maduro/Ecuador Habano
Binder: Mexico
Filler: Colombia, Nicaragua, & Dominican Republic

Coming in your choice of Habano Rosado or Maduro wrappers, Pinar del Rio’s latest blend, A. Flores Serie Privada, is a master class in flavor from Abe Flores offering creamy notes of coffee, cocoa, and white pepper (Maduro) or earth, red peppers, wood, and sundry spices (Habano). I prefer to smoke Maduro after lunch, and the Habano after supper. Truthfully, there really isn’t a bad time to smoke either. Let me know what you think when you try them yourself!
