Cigar Advisor Picks: Top New Cigars (Oct. 20, 2017)

By Fred Lunt

Howdy folks, welcome to another installment of the top new cigars. If you’re like me you’re probably thinking, “Time to do this again, already?” Time may have flown by but new cigars have been soaring in all week – and while the weather is still worthy, here’s your chance to catch up on our latest cigar arrivals.  Check out this week’s cigars – we’ve got some budget bundles and boxes for fall yardwork, a fiery boutique, and a dark and spooky smoke for Halloween. Be it a fall hike, winter preparations, or some good old household gearing up for trick-or-treating, we’ve got the new cigars to help get the job done.

Cuban Aristocrat

With revamped blends, these cigars emphasize a balanced and savory combination of Nicaraguan and Dominican filler surrounded by a butcher’s choice of a dark and sweet San Andres Maduro, a tangy Sun Grown Habano wrapper version, or a creamy Ecuadorian Connecticut (shown). And the best part is, they’re an affordable box buy for even the most prudent budget smoker.

Odyssey

Whether you choose the Connecticut (above) or the Habano wrapper edition with a bit more oomph, these mild-medium bundle cigars pack plenty of flavor as you pound down the weekend to-do list.

Pistoff Kristoff

Kristoff drives a full-bodied powerhouse of Nicaraguan tobacco to the palate; a strong boutique cigar whose name comes from a fan of the brand. A tasty new cigar, clad in a sweet Mexican San Andres wrapper with Indonesian binder and Nic filler, this cigar is jammed packed with earth, spice, pepper, and a toffee-like sweetness.

Asylum Nyctophilia

Dark and flavorful, Nyctophilia refers to a lover of darkness or night. With a midnight black San Andres wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler- this ebony stick pushes heavy notes of spice and chocolate in a medium+ body.

Dominique

Enter Dominique cigars by Quesada: these Famous exclusives are straightforward, everyday smokes, and great companions whether you’re spattering fake blood on the porch pumpkins, or wrestling toilet paper out of trees after the yearly mischief. Smooth and sweet, Dominique comes in both Maduro and Connecticut wrappers with all Dominican filler and binder.

That’s it for this week…but more new smokes are always on the way. Watch this space, and I’ll give you a heads up on the latest cigars worth adding to your humidor!
