Deadwood The Girl With No Name Cigar Back Story
Since Deadwood Tobacco Co. and Drew Estate first combined their talents to create the Deadwood ladies collection, this seminal cigar line has had great success. Following in the wake of Fat Bottom Betty, Sweet Jane, Crazy Alice, and Leather Rose is the latest gal to join the gaggle, The Girl With No Name. Why she has no name, nobody knows. But according to Deadwood Tobacco Co. founder, Vaughn Boyd, “The Girl With No Name is a yummy vixen who appeared out of nowhere to join her Deadwood sisters and is now on the run. Only a posse of the boldest and most daring desperadoes have a chance to rope her in!” A good country song might even be in order.
What’s nice about this release is, The Girl With No Name is being made exclusively for Famous Smoke Shop. This honor comes by way of Drew Estate’s limited-edition cigars program made only for certain retail cigar shops.

Cigar Basics
I found The Girl With No Name to have a very simply stated look about her. She ain’t no fancy dame. The Indonesian Sumatra wrapper, which is a bit more delicate and muddier in color than many Ecuador Sumatra varietals, is even in color, not veiny, and has a silky feel. The rolling is also seamless with no soft spots. The Girl also has a closed foot which offers an herbal-spicy scent. The band looks nice against the wrapper, too. The sweetened cap is textbook. When cut the prelight offered a perfect draw, even with the closed foot, and I tasted a mix of fennel and leather overridden by that sugary cap; it lingers for a while, too, but all-in-all, really well done.
Deadwood The Girl With No Name Cigar Review
If you light the cigar at the foot as-is, you’re going to get more of the wrapper flavor itself. It burns away fairly quickly, and I got a mellow, creamy, and sweet start with a very flowery aroma. The sugary sweetness dominated until just about the first inch. From that point on I got a mostly creamy and lightly spicy smoke with a distinct note of fennel augmented by that flowery aroma. Speaking of which, the aroma is much more vivid than the usual Cubanesque “floral” fragrance, which is more subtle. As The Girl progressed, she developed a pleasant spiciness with the fennel note being the most identifiable flavor.
By the midsection I picked up a little “drive-by” saltiness (thank you Mr. Pullo), while the spice intensity increased. It never gets hot and peppery, either. The body and strength were firmly in the medium range and the flavors were well-balanced. For me, the base flavors here were fennel, clove, cinnamon, and mixed light spices. Retrohales actually had more of a peppery kick to them. Then there’s that flowery aroma, which never stops.
The final act was consistent with all of the above. Yet even though the cigar tasted a bit stronger, that wonderful aroma kept me seduced to the last inch.
Is the Deadwood The Girl With No Name Cigar Worth Buying?
I don’t usually smoke this type of cigar blend. That said, the Deadwood Tobacco Co. by Drew Estate cigars I have smoked and reviewed have been very good. I particularly liked Fat Bottom Betty and Leather Rose. I liked The Girl With No Name, too. I’m just not a fan of the sweetened cap. However, once the sugar settles down The Girl With No Name issues a very smooth, fragrant, and relaxing smoke. The combination of herbs and spices lies at the heart of this blend, while the ambrosial aroma is the main attraction here. I think women smokers in particular will really go for this cigar. Plus, considering The Girl With No Name’s price, the top-notch construction, overall performance, flavors, and aroma, Deadwood The Girl With No Name should prove to be a worthy and reasonable purchase.
