#nowsmoking @famoussmokeshop: Exclusive to Famous Smoke Shop, the Olor Fuerte Robusto offers a chewy banquet of sweet spices, cedar, dark chocolate, and dried figs with a seductive aroma.

Factory: General Cigar – Danlí, Honduras
Size: 5″ x 50
Strength: Medium-plus
Wrapper: Honduran Talanga Cubano
Binder: Mexican San Andrés
Filler: Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Brazil
Construction: Wrapper looked like it was dipped in chocolate, a bit toothy to the touch, and had no swollen veins or soft spots. The draw opened fully after clipping, while the burn was even, exposing a firm, grey marbled ash.
Dominant Flavors: Sweet spice, dried figs, cedar, dark chocolate, damp earth.
Balance: Excellent, considering the number of flavors in the mix.

Where it’s at: Olor fuerte means “strong odor” in Spanish, which speaks to this cigar’s seductive aroma. In this case, fuerte also infers that this blend is more robust than the original Olor cigarswhich it is – yet it’s far from strong. The strength of this Famous Smoke Shop exclusive lies more in the medium, medium-plus range, and there are plenty of satisfying flavors to discover along the way. Let’s start at the beginning, shall we?

The pre-light on the Olor Fuerte Robusto was sweet with a well-defined flavor of dried figs. The initial puffs revealed a rich, sweet aroma, and hint of dark chocolate in the mix. The smoke was dense and creamy with a copious amount of smoke, and a combination of fig sweetness and dark chocolate that lingered on the long finish.

By the midsection, the flavors had coalesced into a big, chewy banquet of sweet spices, cedar, dark chocolate, and dried figs. I also found myself immersed in a thick cloud of redolent smoke. This was undoubtedly the “sweet spot” of the cigar. But there was more to come . . .

As the Robusto wound its way into the final third, sweet spices were still leading the pack, but a layer of damp earth also came to dance as it trailed behind with the dark chocolate and that tangy little fig note on the finish.

It’s been more than a year since I smoked my last Olor Fuerte and this Robusto hadn’t skipped a beat. It’s chock full of chewy flavors, and combined with its spicy aroma it all comes together for a rich, satisfying experience. It can be smoked any time of day, pairs well with just about any drink, and priced well below $100 for a box of 25 (yessir!), it’s one of the best premium cigar values you’ll find anywhere.
