Boehlke, a married father of two, responded to the call-to-entry of Tony Siragusa, the pro football defensive tackle and network TV football analyst who served as the spokesperson for the Partagas Cigar Cave contest. Boehlke beat out hundreds of contestants by submitting the winning essay which told of his being relegated to the rainy outdoors to enjoy his beloved Partagas Black Label cigars.
When asked about winning the contest Boehlke remarked, “It feels like a dream come true. I will combine two great legends, Partagas cigars and Harley Davidson to create a cigar lounge and vintage motorcycle museum in my garage. Now that I will be able to enjoy my cigars indoors, my cigar cave will have the classic, refined style that I see in so many cigar lounges. And in honor of my wife Angela, one the first things I am going to purchase with the prize is a state-of-the-art ventilation system.”
Boehkle is the “recon manager” of Manheim Seattle, a collision repair center. In his spare time, he is also a motorcycle enthusiast who collects and restores vintage Harley Davidson motorcycles. His has amassed 13 bikes from the 1930s and 1960s which he also rides.
Josh Weltmer, manager of the cigar lounge noted, “Michael is a regular customer, so we’re really excited that he won. The lounge has a devoted customer base, so we’re going to make great use of the Partagas-branded furniture and the check for $5,000 to purchase ambient lighting to better showcase our cigars.”
Debo Mukherjee, vice president of marketing for General Cigar, parent company of Partagas comments, “For a cigar lover like Michael, having an in-home smoking lounge is the ultimate nirvana. It gives us great pleasure to provide it in the name of such a well-respected brand as Partagas. We are equally as excited about the opportunity to provide the lounge at Snoqualmie Casino with elements for a branded Partagas lounge. Their establishment speaks of refinement and good taste, just like Partagas.”
General Cigar is planning to host a party at the casino’s cigar lounge to celebrate their and Michael Boehlke’s win of the Partagas Cigar Cave contest. Details about the party are forthcoming.
