Nestor Plasencia Jr. joins Cigar Advisor’s Gary Korb for another Master Blenders video podcast: watch them talk about the Plasencia family’s 154 years of tobacco growing, the success of Alma Fuerte cigars, how they grow and create hybrid tobaccos, and more.
What do you think about adding coffee beans and bourbon to my humidor?
A: As I always say, “to each his own,” especially when it comes to premium cigars. It also makes sense that the milder cigars would pick up the aroma more easily. Personally, I would not do either, mainly because if I want a coffee scented cigar I can pick up a box of Java or Tabak Especial. Secondly, I don’t like bourbon, so that would be out anyway.
If it works for you, great. I’m also a big fan of the Vitola Especiales. Actually, someone in the past had suggested a similar use of coffee beans in their humidor, so you’re not alone. Let’s see what the readers think by leaving their comments.
