How long Will my cigars stay fresh during shipping long distances?
A: You bring up an excellent subject. True, many retailers do not ship with humidipaks. However, many manufacturers are now including branded Boveda Humidipaks in their factory boxes, so, depending on your order, some boxes may already have one in there.
Now, here's why you needn't worry. Unless you leave it under a heat lamp, it takes more than a few hours to completely dry out a premium cigar. Add to that a recent conversation I just had with a manufacturer's rep on this very topic. He told me he found a cigar in a tuxedo he'd worn to a wedding almost a year earlier and the cigar was still smokeable. Its surprising how resilient cigars are.
Suffice it to say, cigars will stay fresh in their boxes for almost an entire month. I suppose the big question is, were the cigars fresh and supple when you opened the boxes? Sure, there are those rare exceptions, but if they were OK, then chances are all of your cigar orders will be fine.
