The Joya de Nicaragua Número Uno L’Ambassadeur actually debuted as far back as 2018. That was the year JDN was celebrating its 50th anniversary and then-named “No. 1” became a handout-only cigar at special events. One year later, they updated the packaging and renamed it L’Ambassadeur. Rolled to a 6”5/8 x 44 Lonsdale, this cigar was an homage to the cigar’s origins as a gift to Nicaraguan ambassadors, government officials, and visiting VIPs. This attractive Lonsdale in graced by a golden Ecuador Connecticut wrapper and rolled by only one pair of top level torcedores who finish it with a fancy fantail cap. The core blend is all perfectly-aged Nicaraguan. Medium in body, the smoke issues nuanced flavors of cedar, nuts, light spices, and sweet tobacco plus a redolent aroma.
