The La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5 Natural robusto is a cigar that lets you know you're smoking one. And while it's full bodied and full flavored, the smoke is surprisingly smooth as silk on the palate. The Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper is just gorgeous and you'll really want more after you've tried it!
These start slow, but the flavor grows and is rich. I truly almost burn my fingers smoking these.
15 years ago or so, the market began to introduce more words ring gauge smokes that boasted numerous appreciable qualities. LGC Series R withstood the hype of a lot of that. The bold, spicy flavors and cool, rich smoke were a nice change of pace from the gentle coronas. The No.5 is a great example with just enough to keep you going for about an hour and not let up. I ve not had a bad roll on these. The burn starts and stays true, not harsh not acidic. The finish stays on the palate without becoming ashy out acrid, the bouquet is round and a little sweet. I ve enjoyed both wrapper offerings and both have their viruses. The Ecuadorian Sumatra is a touch of baking spice and cedar while the CN broadleaf maduro is mellow but complex. Lovely smokes that age well.
Very nice construction, very nice burn LOTS of nice flavors, a must try if you like a full flavored cigar. I will be buying more!
