CLACK! That's the sound the blades make when they snap open on this affordably-priced Lotus Prestige cutter. Based on the design of another popular cigar cutter, this buy-worthy Prestige model also has surgically-sharp blades, ergonomic design, and works
I recently bought a bunch of different cutters from both Lotus and Colibri, just to experiment and see which ones would be most effective. This Lotus double-bladed cutter features a double-bladed guillotine-type design, and is manufactured out of steel. The two blades are very sharp and cut cigars very effectively. That said, if you have a few dollars to spare, I would purchase the Colibri double-bladed cutter with wood trim, instead of this one. The reason being that the handles on the Colibri are curved and feature wood trim, both of which traits allow for a much better and more secure grip in the hand. This Lotus cutter features straight handles, which, combined with the smooth steel, do not provide a secure grip in the hand.
Had this for about a year. One day one one the rivets holding it together popped out, and it no longer worked. Blades were very sharp, but it didn t last.
This cutter is simple to use and compact. Has a nice weight that I find appealing. The safety keeps the blades closed which I like. Excellent cutter.
