Rafael Gonzalez Robusto cigars present a well-balanced, handmade cigar of very high quality that's also moderately priced. The filler blends choice Honduran, Dominican, and Nicaraguan tobaccos with a rich-tasting Connecticut broadleaf binder capping in a silky U.S. Connecticut shade wrapper. The Cuban version is reputed to be very mild, but this Honduran-made edition is more medium-bodied with an appealing nutty flavor, while retaining its Havana cousin's smoothness and inviting aroma.
A wonderful treat, especially with coffee in the morning. Sweet and mellow with notes of cedar. A friend gave me one thinking I would like it and turned out to be a great choice. A little wider than most Robustos, but these dimensions are excellent.
After a longer weekend of hard play, this cigar is perfect for a simple day of relaxing. I m usually more into the fuller body cigars but this one is just a tad enough above mild to make it enjoyable. NOthing crazy in the taste department, think honey and bread, but it is all very pleasant with a nice burn. I originally got this as a sample and soon after got a box to accompany the rest of my shipment. Very pleasant ....hard not to like.
