Wonderful Robusto with consistent burn, excellent draw and true maduro taste.
I like these as a strong afternoon cigar. Dark and meaty, they seem pretty consistent in the flavor and construction. Every one has a good draw if slightly wonky burn sometimes. Nothing egregious. A pretty safe bet.
I am new to premium cigars and this was the second cigar I had smoked. The first time I smoked the RP Sun Grown was overwhelming and not good flyer . The second one I smoked was after a few other cigars, completely different experience. I am still learning the nomenclature of the cigar world so my wording is just that. The Rocky Patel Sun Grown Maduro is now one of my top two favorites. Great flavor, stayed lit OK had to relight a few times because of how I smoked, slowly , the flavor taste was amazing it coated the roof of my mouth with rich flavor, the flavor stayed most of the day. The smoke aroma ?? was pleasant. That is how I judge a cigar, no ash or appearance just flavor and enjoyment. This cigar has great flavor, is total enjoyment and is a pleasure to smoke. Made me happy......
This is probably one of the worst 6x60 cigars I ve had. It has a poor draw that is just a little less than tight and each puff delivers disappointingly little smoke. I have to do triple or quadruple puffs to get flavors. When I get those it tastes mostly of candy, chocolate and caramel. It also has a tendency to go off quickly requiring almost a puff every 10 seconds to remain lit, which makes it hard to keep the cigar actually cool. Just disappointing. Too much hassle, not enough flavor. Not what I expect from Rocky Patel.
