Tatuaje Miami cigars first saw release in 2003, when a then-relatively unknown Pete Johnson and Pepin Garcia teamed up to create a cigar in the tradition of robust, flavorful, medium to full-bodied Cuban cigars. A blend of first-generation Cuban seed tobaccos from Nicaragua are enveloped inside gorgeous Ecuadorian Habano wrappers, complete with Cuban-style triple cap. A luxury cigar well-worth a box buy.
What a surprise - a smaller caliber of cigar than I normally smoke and a lot lighter in flavour. I as pleased with the sweet grassy taste - a nice draw and pleasant smoke - I bought more.
I m a big fan of panatelas/lanceros because you typically taste more of the showcase wrapper and the flavors develop throughout the burning process. But, I m just not a fan of this particular blend. To me, the flavor profile was mostly earth/bark/barnyard. It wasn t terrible by any means, it just lacked the spice and aroma that I go for, and was fairly one-dimensional. Unfortunate, because it truly is a beautiful stick, and the construction was absolutely flawless. But, for the price, I just expected to enjoy it more than I did.
