Falling Leaves—the latest cigar releases at Famous Smoke Shop!

Now that Mariah’s completely thawed and dominating the airwaves ad nauseum, we’re all in need of some well-deserved respite. I might not be able to nix the Christmas music at Walmart, but at least I have some new cigars up my sleeve that’ll restore your sanity.

Check out the latest cigar releases from the Famous Nicaraguan Selection series, El Rey del Mundo, and Viaje. I’ve got a little of their background and flavor for your consideration, just in case one or more are right up your alley. Tune in below and, as always, drop me a line on our social channels on what fresh blends you’ve been smoking!

Famous Nicaraguan Selection 8000

Wrapper: Nicaragua Habano
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua

If flavor matters to you much more than eye candy, Famous Nicaraguan Selection 8000 would like a word. This time, Villiger’s taken up the honors of hand-crafting these tasty treats. Expect a medium-bodied experience brimming with notes of toast, nuts, spice, and a splash of natural sweetness. And don’t forget the best part: the price! Starting at just $2.50 apiece (as of November 2024), they’re the perfect smoky treat for any smoker—especially with the holidays depleting our piggy banks.

El Rey del Mundo King of the World

Wrapper: Honduras Habano
Binder: Honduras Corojo
Filler: Honduras Habano

With their first self-titled cigar (‘El Rey del Mundo’ means king of the world in Spanish), our friends at El Rey have pulled out all stops. First, they tapped Justo Eiroa of JRE Tobacco for this epic collab. Second, they employed authentic Corojo for the binder position. And finally, they even roll the cigars at Eiroa’s Puros Aladino S.A. factory in Honduras. But wait…there’s more! Flavorwise, King of the World is reminiscent of the Cuban cigars of old with that legendary ‘ice cream float’-like flavor thanks to notes of citrus, cedar, light spices, and cream. Only catch is that it’s a limited edition and will likely sell out quickly.

Viaje Private Bale Bird on a Branch

Wrapper: Ecuador Habano
Binder: Nicaragua Corojo 99 Jalapa x2
Filler: Nicaragua Esteli and Jalapa

Inspired by his five-year-old son’s drawing of a parrot, Viaje founder, Andre Farkas set out on a quest to make the perfect cigar. After eight years of trial and error, Private Bale Bird on a Branch was born.

“The tobacco selection process is different for this project,” said Farkas. “Each bale is pulled apart and inspected for quality. It’s a rigorous process, but necessary to produce a blend of superior quality.” In addition to their pickiness for blend, Farkas, working with Aganorsa Leaf in Nicaragua, aged the cigars nine months before putting the blend through a battery of tests to ensure quality. And if I say so myself—time well spent. Molasses, sweet wood, spices, peppers, and a flavor that’s something between citrus and berry made Bird on a Branch an exceptional treat. Consider it for your next cigar discovery!
